[Back to main bass trap article]

If you want to update your bass trap page with current 2001 prices, here's what everything cost in Los Angeles at Home Depot, and the 703 price is from a local insulation supply firm.

One tip that people might find useful: The Arrow T50BN stapler handles not only staples but also up to 5/8" brads. This really speeds up affixing the 1/8" ply to the high bass traps. They cost $3.50 per 500 count box, so they're a great time saver for little or no more money over the finish nails.

Last tip, the black weedblock fabric I got in the garden department looks almost exactly like commercial speaker cloth. It's an 18 mil synthetic fabric that's inexpensive, stretches nicely, has tons of tiny holes (patented microfunnels! ;- ) for high end sound to pass through, and is very easy to work with. It's manufactured by Easy Gardener and comes in 3x100' and 3x50' rolls.

Thanks for your bass trap article!!! It was a real life saver in my budget wars around here.
